When I was growing up, when we had pancakes or New Year’s Day Æbleskiver (which are made from a recipe handed down several generations in Denmark) my grandmother would make simple syrup and flavor it with Mapleine. It was all I knew until I took a trip to Vermont in 1993 – had my first REAL Maple Syrup and have never looked back. Thing is, it’s hard to find good Grade B maple syrup which I use to make ice cream, maple cakes, cookies, etc. Thank goodness for the internet and Mom & Pop’s store. It is the best Maple Syrup for every use. The service is wonderful, everyone is great to deal with and I get the best Maple Syrup to pour over Æbleskiver on New Year’s Day!!
